We are so grateful for every volunteer! Our Heavenly Father accomplishes his purposes through you when you obey in faith. He uses people to carry out the mission of making followers of Jesus, and we are eager to help you use your gifts to that end. Each volunteer team exists to facilitate the things we do together as Jesus’ family. We value communion, community and commission which require humble people who joyfully do tasks.

Children & Youth

Infants & Toddlers (0-4 years old) Do you enjoy rocking babies to sleep and entertaining toddlers? Our nursery is open during the teaching portion of our Sunday Gatherings and also during our Wednesday night Combined DCs. PA background clearances are required

Mercy Gate Kids (5-10 years old) Are you eager to transfer the Gospel to the next generation in a fun, upbeat context made just for our little ones? Like our nursery, 4-7s meet during the Sunday sermon and Wednesday night Combined DCs. PA background clearances are required

Mercy Gate Youth (11+ years old) Do you have a burden to build Gospel-centered relationships with high-energy youth who are beginning to grapple with big questions? Our youth meet on Friday afternoons, but we desire to expand this ministry to Sunday mornings also. PA background clearances required

Music & Arts

Graphics & Visual Media Do you have skill and experience with Adobe CS or other graphic design programs? We need people who can design and edit graphics, slides and presentations as well as capture, edit and share photos and videos of life together. In addition we need those who can design and decorate our space.

Audio Tech If you love gear, audio recording & editing, or mixing live music then this team is for you. We need volunteers to work closely alongside the music team and pastors to ensure that everyone can clearly hear and engage with every aspect of our gatherings.

Music & Worship If you are an experienced vocalist or musician, we would love for you to help lead and facilitate corporate worship through song. There are opportunities to lead musically in most of our church activities and we strongly desire to grow our team of worshiper leaders.

Hospitality

Hospitality Our hospitality team handles Sunday morning coffee prep, communion prep, and decorating & meal planning for special events. The hospitality team is for those who enjoy cooking, decorating, organizing and event planning.

Housekeeping Do you enjoy preparing a clean context for others? We want our building to be used as much as possible to bless our community and essential to that is a solid team of individuals that keep our space clean and inviting.

Greeting As a church family we want to make sure everyone feels welcome and at home among us. We have yet to formally launch the greeting team so there is plenty of room for you to serve as a greeter on Sunday mornings!

Security Not only do we want everyone to feel welcome as we gather to worship, but we also want everyone to be safe. This team is for individuals who are observant, proactive and able to adapt quickly to unexpected situations should they arise.

Facilities

Minor Repairs & Routine Maintenance Our building is almost 100 years old and requires ongoing repairs and updates. If you enjoy routine maintenance like painting, patching, deep-cleaning, unclogging, stopping leaks, etc, then we need your help!

Major Repairs & Renovation In addition to routine maintenance, our building still has large portions that need major overhaul. We’ve take major steps to improve our building, but we still have much to accomplish before we can regularly use the entire building for mission and ministry. We need skilled tradesmen and women who can help us plan and execute these large-scale renovations.

Landscaping & Snow Removal Besides the indoor maintenance projects, we need individuals who enjoy planting, gardening, weeding, mowing and shoveling snow to maintain the grounds so our building is an inviting safe haven to the neighborhood.

Litter Cleanup Beyond our own property and basement stairwell that regularly accumulate trash, we want to be known for maintaining a clean and beautiful block. Not only do our neighbors appreciate this, but it also provides opportunities to build relationships with people and care for them.

Finances

Offerings Collection & Accounting Our church mission depends on God-given financial resources that are shared by cheerful givers. This requires collecting, counting, depositing and tracking those gifts. This team doesn’t require CPAs or finance managers, but it does require responsible individuals with integrity to steward the offering plate each week.

Expense Tracking & Reporting Another invaluable piece of stewarding financial resources is that we keep track of how we spend money. We need individuals to help collect, categorize and store receipts and invoices to ensure we stick to our budget.

Budget Planning & Oversight This requires more experience in finances and accounting, but we need people who are skilled in strategic, missional budgeting. We need a balance of financial wisdom and Spirit-led faith that can look into the future and help us advance our mission with what we’ve been given.

Benevolence & Missions Giving Beyond maintaining our building and supporting our leaders, we must be willing to use our money to bless and support others. This includes showing mercy and benevolence to the needy, but also supporting missionaries around the world. This is tied closely to our budget, but we need individuals who have a heart to disperse finances responsibly and sacrificially.

Missions & Outreach

Puerto Rico We aim to grow and multiply our relationships in Puerto Rico through ongoing mission trips that seek to bless people through Spirit-led Gospel ministry alongside physical relief efforts. If this interests you, we will invite you to our next planning meeting.

Ministry Team Another way we desire to grow is by establishing a dedicated team and venue to bless others by ministering in the gifts of the Holy Spirit. We have not launched this ministry yet, but if you are interested in training to serve in this way, please let us know.
