Many Christians feel as if they’re not “getting anywhere” in their spiritual walk. The same temptations, struggles and weaknesses seem to be always in the way. Romans 8 promises that those who have the Spirit have freedom and life! How do we become people who are truly led by the Spirit of God?

PART 1

To experience true transformation we must get out of the “I” of Romans 7 into the “Spirit” of Romans 8

-The Spirit sets us free from the death of performance

-The Spirit supplies life and peace to those who set the mind on Him

-The Spirit draws us into deeper relationship with the Father

PART 2

The Spirit actively produces patience in those who are suffering

-Spirit-produced patience is not naive

-Spirit-produced patience does not mean that I have to like my suffering

-Spirit-produced patience keeps Gospel mercy central

PART 3

The Holy Spirit gives voice to those who are suffering and works good for the glory of Christ

PART 4

With the Holy Spirit, there is nothing that can separate you from God’s love

-with the Spirit you need nothing

-with the Spirit you cannot be condemned

-with the Spirit your suffering proves God’s love

PART 5

The Spirit-led Christian matures as the Holy Spirit illuminates the depths of our sin but the glories of Christ

PART 6

The Spirit-Led Christian must reject the lies that we are “good enough” or that “God owes me because I’ve suffered". We were deserving of condemnation but in Christ we are free from it!

PART 7

The Spirit-led life is characterized by a Spirit-led mind. Those who exist in the flesh without God’s Spirit cannot please God and need to be regenerated by the Spirit unto life and peace.

PART 8

Stepping back into verses 1-2 of Romans 8, we look at what it means to be “in Christ” and the obstacles that keep us from growing.

PART 9

This is the second part of last week’s message which dives deeper into the obstacles which keep us from our full potential in Christ.

PART 10

Those who are in Christ are no longer debtors to the flesh, but are now instruments of righteousness to bear abundant fruit.

PART 11

To be in Christ means that we are free from trying to change ourselves through legalism and secularism

PART 12

The Spirit-led life does not add Jesus to a mixture of worldly solutions to life challenges. The Spirit-led life makes Jesus the central priority who fills all in all.

PART 13

In Christ we did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but the Spirit of adoption as sons and daughters. The Spirit-led life is one that produces freedom as the Spirit leads us into fellowship with God’s perfect love.
